Could I create a fence to transfer my files to that wall and then repair my installation or reinstall it completely. Once this is done will I know how to access the partition next to my files and copy them back to where on earth I want them on the new install?

This depends... if you singular have 1 unyielding drive in your computer, next you need a program such as Norton Partition Magic to create a seperate separator on your existing harddrive.
Then you can format the new hedge and use it as a storage/backup drive.
that should work ... but it would be safer to transfer them to a dvd or external harddrive ..
