i own a Dell inspiron 2500 and i did something to the hard drive on stroke of luck and my OS [xp] will not boot, andif i put the boot cd in, it say Setup is inspecting your hardware configuration..
and the screen go blank and nothing happen. so im looking for some kind of program to burn to a cd and boot it up and it will erase and format the rugged drive.

if the lcd goes blank as you start the boot up and setup process from a cd, consequently you may have a memory or processor problem, since disk is not involved next to the process until you give an enter to start the reload.
do you own a windows disk? if so - insert it into the cd/dvd drive and install it
or if you enjoy made / created a back up disk - insert that
