Computer crash?

my computer crash and get infected by a virus,i tried so many ways

to bring back rid of the virus and it wo'nt go away.so,i formatted the unyielding drive

to start fresh.i reinstalled window ME to bring started but everything went big when i instigate window.i can't adjust the resolution,it's grayed out everytime

i click on it.i can't adjust to over than 640x480.ihave a dell and it runs on

1024x768.please counsel. thank you
