I own some CDs that were burned from a computer that have a virus on it. If I rip these burned CDs to my new computer, will I be putting the virus on my up to date computer?

Maybe.
Copy the files from CD to your desktop. Then, scan them near your anti-virus and delete any infected files.
The rest should be safe to start.
chances are within but cant say...download the files to your computer and scan and del the infected ones!!!
Not sure why relations are saying to copy the files afterwards scan them. Scan the files while they are still on the CD to see if they are infected.
Either agency though, simply copying a file to your computer will NOT infect your appliance. You need to in actuality run / open a report for it to infect your computer. So if you just copy it to your device, even if it is infected, it won't hurt you. Of course you shouldn't do that as you may click on a file by calamity.
