I own some CDs that were burned from a computer that have a virus on it. If I rip these burned CDs to my new computer, will I be putting the virus on my modern computer?

Scan the CD next to your virus scanner -
AV programs MAY catch the virus. Not any are 100% successful at catching all virus.
As long as you have Avast or AVG installed in the past you do this, you won't have a problem. They will bout entrap the virus and put it into quarantine. Pick one or the other, not both of them.
These are anti viruses and I don't recommend any others.
