Ok, hopefully this will be my concluding video card question :)
I want to buy the aforementioned card. I hold 2 questions in relation to its compatability with my current computer.
1. Is this card exceedingly big, where on earth I might have problems fitting it contained by? I know some of the newer cards have have this problem.
2. I have found on http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/s...
a inventory of system requirements. There is one that I do not understand.
1 6-pin supplementary power connectors
How would I step about determing whether or not I hold this?
Also, I have see that it requires pcie 16x. I know my computer has a pcie slot, but I do not know nearly 16x. I havent seen that anywhere where on earth I check my graphics card. I am currently using a geforce 6800. I do not know if 16x is standard or fairly contemporary, really I don't know much XD. Do you know? Thx :D for ur time
About geforce 8600 gts superclocked?
I am doing research on upgrading my VIdeo card also,
I have GeForce 6150 which can process 216mb.
I'm hoping peep can recomend to me if the new 8600's are other, i've heard folks say take 512 mb!
anyway to answer your ? the x16 is standard i looked up my mother board on google and found a spec sheet for it, very kind. This was done using software (free) advanced glass care v 2 personal. there's a system information button that will report you about your motherboard info.
card is big
6 pin power connector is for the motherboard, to power the pci-e x16 slots
likelihood are you have a pci-e x16 slot if you own a 6800 in within now
