Windows xp taskbar frozen?

My errand bar have been frozen for 2 days. I can't click on start menu, overt programs, or anything down there. when I do, my browser turns greyish (as if I clicked on something else) but zilch happens. It's not a moment ago when I turn the computer on, for the last 2 days I've have to unplug. I wanted to stir into control panel to see if I could look into things, but I can't even do that. HELP!!!!

Windows xp taskbar frozen?

Start you computer in locked mode F8 on start up and restore to a couple days before it happen.

How to get into out of danger mode here:

http://www.computerhope.com/issues/chsaf...

If it is still frozen in undisruptive mode, hit CTRL+ALT+DEL to open the errand manager. Click file> New Task(Run) type RESTORE

this will unfurl a window near RSTRUI.EXE in it. Double click it and it will bring up the system restore. Take it vertebrae before the Start tablet froze.

To get into the control panel:CTRL+ALT+DEL to plain the task negotiator. Click file> New Task(Run) type CONTROL

Download and run some spyware and virus control programs.

See links below

Hope this helps
I would follow daniel b guidance using system restore. I would also suggest you find out what caused it. Chances are it's a virus/malware/spyware within your computer that did it. A great online scan for all three of those is housecalls at trendmicro.com. It's a free online service that not merely detects but will remove anything it finds with your permissions.
