8600 Ultra is newer & faster. The Radeon X1950 Pro is slightly better than the 7900GT. The 8600 also supports DirectX10 lower than Vista, while ATI still hasn't released their DX10 line even so...
It is called the 8600 GTS, and the x1950pro is slightly faster within most games, but the 8600 GTS runs S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and Oblivion better, plus it has DX10 support. And to the first poster, ATI released the HD 2900 XT 2 weeks ago (it sucks). Bottom stripe, if you are getting vista get the 8600, if you aren't draw from the x1950pro.
