Take the serial number stale of the MOBO and google it.
Go to www.intel.com and click on the links
the best cpu scanners ,especially if your looking to upgrade and want as much info as possible are cpu-z(http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php),this... will give you your current processor and adjectives relevant info such as clock speed, fsb, plus memory type and latency, frequency, and clock cycle
the Intel(R) Chipset Identification Utility (http://downloadcenter.intel.com/detail_d... small download will let you know everything going on for your chipset(including processor)and works with adjectives Intel(R) processors and chipsets
however the Intel(R) Processor Identification Utility(http://www.intel.com/support/processors/... the Intel(R) Processor Frequency ID Utility(http://www.intel.com/support/processors/... both excellent utilitys for users with Intel(R) processors, you entail to download them and install them, one will identifu your current processor, and the second will identify and report your processors current clock speed and other specifications(f.s.b,multi-ply... ect)
amd also do similar utilitys, for users with AMD AthlonTM 64 processors you can download the AMD CPUInfo (http://www.amd.com/gb-uk/processors/tech... only just like the Intel(R) utility will display adjectives the amd processor information including clock speed and fsb among other useful info
i hope this have helped
angelic luck mate!
You can play this two ways to double check. First, go to the mobo manufacturer website and find what CPU's you can use with the mobo. Second, (cross check) stir to the CPU manufacturers website, see which mobo you can use.
