I own aCompaq Pesario2.5 gh 40 gbhd desktop and i pluged in a external easier said than done drive WD 200gb in a METAL GEAR BOX II inclosure thru a usb port and XP shows it but not contained by my computer.I cant seem to access the external drive to download files to it?I see no icon or such to access so im stuck. Any help would be great im tentative to external drives THANKS FOR ANY INPUT
Accessing External Harddrive?
Go to control panel/administrative tools, then computer paperwork and disk manager. You may see it at hand as unpartitioned. You can format the partition and set a drive memo. Then you should see it in the directory browser.
What do you mean, XP shows it but not your computer?
It should show up within My Computer or the Windows Explorer.
