whats the difference between an AMD athlon CPU and an intel core 2 duo CPU and how are they equivalent and whats more powerful, a 5400+ AMD CPU or a 3.2Ghz and which is more expensive and which is better for gaming?

AMD Athlon CPU examine please answer....?

step with dual more expensive but smaller quantity failure contained by gaming. and make sure that you own a good cooler for it.. if you plan on lots of gaming.. dont want it to over fry.
I have done closely of research on this the last month. For gaming AMD is better. It can process one entity faster than Intel.

Intel can process multiple things faster than AMD.

So if it is for gaming, go near AMD
The AMD Athlon is a single core processor unlike the Intel 2 Duo that has dual core. Are you sure your not discussion about a AMD Athlon 64 A2 processor? It's a dual core.

Obviously the Dual core would be faster and better for gaming. It can touch more threads by spreading the load over two processors. Not to mention newer games are immediately coding for multi threading.

Personally I have other had beef near intel back when they started locking nearby P3's. I then switched to AMD for overclocking requests. Even though intel no longer does that....
The AMD is a nice machine but the Intel Core 2 Duo is the current weiner and the best for cost / actions.
Isn't that model of AMD a dual?
